The evening was held to celebrate and thank Karen’s fabulous clients for choosing her for their treatments and openly sharing their journeys, while also giving people the chance to see the new Karen Betts Professional website and pamper themselves with a treatment from a selection of her brands.
Following the event, Karen said: “It was a fabulous evening – I’m so pleased so many people came to support me and celebrate the life-changing work permanent makeup can do.
“For me, my clients are the people who inspire me every day to keep on doing what I do and to keep spreading the word about the positive effects medical and cosmetic tattooing has on people’s confidence and self-esteem.”
Following an introduction from Karen, Diane Ayre, one of her clients, gave a heartfelt and moving speech on her emotional journey through chemotherapy. She described how with the help of Karen’s elite skills as an artist and loving nature as a person, she was able to move forward and onwards with her life; beautifully summing up everything the evening was about.
Among the celebrities and clients of Karen’s who attended the event were ex ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge and choreographer Arlene Phillips, Olympic long-jump athlete Jade Johnson, celebrity manager Claire Powell and presenter and model Ashley James.
Key members from several of the charities Karen supports and which are close to her heart also attended the event, including a representative from the Katie Piper Foundation and the London Haven as well as celebrity manager and founder of cancer charity, Caroline’s campaign, Caroline Monk.
The treatments being carried out throughout the night proved very popular, with guests eager to try innovative Nouveau Skin Therapy facials A-lift and Dermatude, semi-permanent eyelash extension treatment – Nouveau Lashes and HD Brows.
A cinema room playing footage of Karen’s work and her clients’ permanent makeup journeys also provided guests with a fantastic insight into the world of permanent cosmetics and how it can transform people on the inside as well as the outside.
Karen added: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that attended and especially to Diane Ayre who was an absolute superstar – sharing her story with us all and reducing several people to tears.”
